CONCEPT:
This mural was conceived from the idea of “removing the walls of an office.”
Its aim is to visually and gently connect the boundaries between inside and outside, between the facility’s users and local residents, and between the workplace and everyday life.

Although the mural is painted on the exterior wall of the building, it intentionally depicts an interior scene. The window frames are treated like picture frames, allowing the outdoor mural and indoor space to visually flow into one another. Through this approach, the entire building is experienced as a single, unified artwork.
本壁画は、「オフィスの壁をなくす」という発想から生まれました。 建物の内と外、施設の利用者と近隣住民、仕事の場と日常生活との間にある境界を、視覚的にゆるやかにつなぐことを目的としています。 壁画は建物の外壁に描かれていますが、あえて室内の風景をモチーフとし、窓枠を絵画のフレームのように表現しました。これにより、屋外の壁画と屋内空間が連続し、建物全体をひとつの作品として感じられる構成としています。
BACKGROUND and PROCESS
This project was planned on the exterior wall of the office of Enable, a nonprofit organization celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, with the goal of inviting facility users and local residents to participate in the mural-making process.
Prior to painting, the artist worked closely with the office staff to discuss the design, using mockups to confirm colors and forms. During on-site preparation, virtual reality (VR) technology was used to transfer the final image onto the wall.
On the day of the community paint party, facility users, staff members, and local residents painted together, engaging in conversation as they added color to the mural. The final details were carefully completed by the artist in collaboration with the office staff and participants.
The completed mural is not only a finished artwork, but also a reflection of Enable’s 20 years of working alongside the local community and the many connections formed through this shared creative process.
It is hoped that this space will continue to be a welcoming, open place that connects the facility and the surrounding neighborhood.
このプロジェクトは、この度設立20周年を迎えたNPO法人いねいぶるの事務所外壁を舞台に、利用者や近隣住民が壁画制作に参加することを目的として企画されました。 制作にあたっては、事前に事務所スタッフとデザインについて話し合い、モックアップなどを用いて色や形を確認しながら準備を進めました。現地での下準備では、VR（仮想現実）を活用し、完成イメージを転写する工程を行いました。 コミュニティ・ペイント・パーティー当日は、施設の利用者、スタッフ、地域の方々が一緒に筆を取り、対話を重ねながら彩色を行いました。仕上げの細かな部分は、アーティストと事務所スタッフ、利用者の皆さんによって丁寧に描き進められ、壁画が完成しました。 完成した壁画は、ひとつの作品であると同時に、20年にわたり地域と共に歩んできたいねいぶるの活動と、人と人との交流の積み重ねを映し出す風景でもあります。 今後もこの場所が、施設と地域をつなぐ開かれた場として親しまれていくことを願っています。
