CONCEPT
In April 2024, CPC opened its main office, CPC One. This staircase mural is the third piece in the CPC Mural Project. The commonality across all three pieces is the use of the same color palette.
The first piece is more graphic. The second features more detailed depictions. For the third piece, an abstract style was chosen to differentiate it from the other two. The shapes of squares and triangles were inspired by the main staircase and the CPC logo.
This time, we placed a greater emphasis on community involvement, making it a closer reflection of CPC's connection with its people. The process began with Pre-K children using texture additives for paint and rollers to create texture. The youth then used rollers to apply solid colors over the textured areas. For the non-textured sections, they were given two shades of similar colors to freely create gradients.
Typically, murals offer limited creative freedom to participants. However, with the abstract theme for this project, we ensured that individual contributions were more visible, making the mural a more memorable experience.
