CONCEPT
MIKA Bushwick is a coffee house & bar that hosts numerous events and activities. The mural captures one of the distinguishing features of this place: a friendly and comfortable atmosphere where chance encounters take place daily. The mural, through vibrant colors and interactions of various shapes, visualizes the feeling of these moments of encounters in its abstract design.
The restroom of the bar was heavily graffitied before, and it is likely that this new mural will be scribbled and tagged again. Considering this, the mural design is kept simple with geometric shapes so that vandalized areas can be easily painted over and covered.
